Viper
The Viper is a marriage of several of Makani’s trusted designs. Taking elements of the easy riding Mini-Beast and Missing Link Pro and packaging it in a contemporary hi performance outline and rocker. This board has a smooth neutral feel that generates speed at your initial rail engagement. The bottom contours, rocker, outline and foil all come together allowing for controlled flow and power in and through the pocket and into and out of the flats. Initially designed as a slight step up for heavier waves in the overhead plus range, Makani through personal RnD and team rider feedback found this board worked extremely well with normal shortboard dims in all conditions and wave types. This board goes vertical without hiccups and stays under your feet without having to think about your maneuvers. Lay it on rail for controlled carves in the critical sections and let it set you right back on your line for the next vert turn or big carve. Think less, rip more. This is the Viper!
